This book is primarily helpful for graduate and postgraduate students in
the field of plant tissue culture, Horticulture. The objective of
research was to observe the effect of different growth regulators on the
regeneration behavior of Dahlia flowers. The basal Murashige and Skoog
(1962) medium supplemented with various growth regulators used for shoot
proliferation, callusing and further regeneration of Dahlia. Dahlia have
captivating beauty is highly appreciated among the flowering bulb; a
good micropropagation protocol for dahlia could be used for producing
the low cost plants at higher amount. The fact of research project was
initiated with an attention to optimize a protocol for micropropagation
and successful regeneration of dahlia plants from both invitro and
invivo sources of important indigenous and exotic cultivars of dahlia to
enhance production for the local market.Mrs. Tehseen Ashraf is engaged
in teaching and research in Horticulture in the University College of
Agriculture, University of Sargodha for the last 4 years. Her
specialization was in plant tissue culture and growth regulators and
contributed 2 research papers to various National Journals.
