The day diabetes is diagnosed in a child, it takes a long time for the
parents to reconcile and accept the fact that the child is having Type 1
diabetes. They have to cope with the emotional stress and get mentally
prepared for the daily injections of insulin. As the child grows, he/she
faces various problems in schools like low sugar levels, headaches,
confusion and difficulty in getting good marks. After growing up, he
gets problems getting shots during lunch- time and finds difficulty in
getting a life partner as Type 1 diabetes is still considered a social
stigma. In this book, we will see Type 1 diabetics and their parents
overcoming all these hurdles and how they positively overcome them.
