The field of Intersemiotic Translation expresses a distinctive domain of
language procedures and practices. It involves a fundamental change of
habits of interpretation and innovative forms of sign manipulation. The
phenomenon of intersemiotic was defined by Roman Jakobson as
"transmutation of signs" or "an interpretation of verbal signs by means
of signs of non-verbal sign systems". In this book, the researcher
assessed the interpretations of photographs of the book "Photolanguage"
by Robert U. Akeret. The book contains over one hundred photographs
spanning 100 years. Translation trainees, photo interpreters,
scenographers, Cover designers, film directors are those who can benefit
from this study.
